# How to Keep ADS Active by Preventing Your Computer from Sleeping

In order for the loading process to run smoothly, we recommend you prevent your computer from sleeping. **Disclaimer:**The following steps apply to Aero Data Server (ADS) on Windows. Instructions will vary for ADS on macOS.

### Step 1: Open Advanced Power Settings

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Select **Hardware and Sound**.
3. Select **Power Options**.
4. Click on **Change plan settings**.
5. Click on **Change advanced power settings**.

### Step 2: Change Sleep Settings

1. Expand **Sleep**.
2. Expand **Sleep after** and **Hibernate after**.
3. Set the **On battery** setting to Never.
4. Set the **Plugged in** setting to Never.
5. Click **Apply** when done to apply the changes, then click **OK**.
